Driver Age
The minimum age to hire and drive our boats is 18 years. Drivers must be named during the hire for insurance purposes.
Freedom Hire
All hires are freedom hirea ie without any guides/skippers. You are responsible for your own safety and need to stay within your experience levels
Experience Required
Maritime experience is required to hire and drive our boats. You will be quizzed on Maritime Laws prior to departure ie giveaway and speed laws.
Capacity
Our hire boats our surveyed to a maximum capacity of 8 persons. This includes children and infants etc.

All our vessel rentals do not show availability and therefore you booking will need to be confirmed by us. Please call prior to booking to check availability and weather conditions if booking within a week of your desired time slot.
Do I need a license or any experience to hire the boat?
You don't need a license, but you will need to have experience operating a boat before hand and know the Maritime Rules i.e. give way rules, speed restrictions and buoyage systems.
How many people can go on the boat?
The maximum capacity for our hire boat is 8 people.
What is provided?
We provide a detailed induction on the boat's operation and its safety equipment, there are life jackets provided for all sizes including infants. Water sports equipment like tubes and skis can be hired for an additional cost.
Where can we go?
Lake Wanaka has many beautiful locations to visit including Ruby Island, Mou Waho or Stevenson’s arm. Our staff can advise you on the best locations on the day.
How long does it take to get to Moa Waho?
It takes around 45 minutes to get to Moa Waho at around 40 kph.
Can I be hired for multiple days?
Our boat can be hired for multiple days and has the option to be trailered, please email or call to discuss your options. We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for multi day hires
