Looking for a relaxing day sightseeing? Wanting to visit our nature islands? Or just wanting some fun with the family our boat hire packages are sure to suit. Have the freedom to explore the lake and admire the scenery with family or friends with our boat hire. Set your own personal location and duration and discover some of Wanaka’s hidden features.
Hire rental boat and tour Lake Wanaka at your own pace. Lake Wanaka has so many hidden coves and islands to discover, and hiring a boat means you have the freedom to choose how long you want to spend exploring.
Our boat for hire is a 6.5m Stabicraft. You can carry a maximum of 8 passengers, and all safety equipment is provided. No licence is required, however skippers must be over 18 years of age and have a full understanding of New Zealand Maritime Rules. Basic training will be provided before hire, including general operation of the boat plus description of navigational hazards on the lake itself.
Boat hire is subject to weather conditions and availability. Prices are exclusive of fuel costs, which will be calculated on your return. Boat hire is subject to the discretion of Lakeland Wanaka staff.

Half Day (4 hours) $525
(all rates are plus fuel used)
The minimum age to hire and drive our boats is 18 years. Drivers must be named during the hire for insurance purposes.
All hires are freedom hirea ie without any guides/skippers. You are responsible for your own safety and need to stay within your experience levels
Maritime experience is required to hire and drive our boats. You will be quizzed on Maritime Laws prior to departure ie giveaway and speed laws.
Our hire boats our surveyed to a maximum capacity of 8 persons. This includes children and infants etc.

All our vessel rentals do not show availability and therefore you booking will need to be confirmed by us. Please call prior to booking to check availability and weather conditions if booking within a week of your desired time slot.
