[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I’m no psychic, however I can tell you that I see a bright future ahead of you! Just stop and think, yes it looks like the summer sun is finally here. The Lakeland crew just like many of you have waiting for what seems all year for the warm weather to arrive. Across all of NZ fingers will be crossed, hoping the warm weather is here to stay and the inconsistent spring is in the past. Let be honest we are happier in the sun, enjoying the heat, relaxing outdoors and as we are seeing in Wanaka being drawn to the water.
Visitor numbers to the Lake are beginning to increase with more travelers taking advantage of the weather and the flat lake. For many it is an opportunity of a lifetime to enjoy Lake Wanaka by both boat or kayak especially with the stunning still snow capped mountains. Some of the more popular options over the last few weeks have been kayaking with a destination of Ruby Island and adrenaline rides down the Clutha River.
Ruby Island is located just under 3 km from Wanaka’s foreshore about a 45 minute paddle. Once there paddlers can stop and look around the island and even get a chance to see the old dance floor from the early 20th century. This trip seems to be a great way to pass some time in the great outdoors and at only $30 per person is reasonably priced. The Clutha River has also picked up with fisherman and swimmers being very active and jet boat numbers increasing. On the lake many locals have come out of hiding and using the boats that have been stored all year, it’s great to finally see the biscuits, skis and wake boards being used as the water temperature is still rising. So now that summer is here take advantage of the lake as there as so many options in this wonderful location of New Zealand.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
