New Owners at LakeLand Wanaka – New Management
Lakeland Adventures Wanaka, based at the Log Cabin on the Lake Wanaka foreshore, has recently been purchased by Jeff & Julia Grant from the previous owners Danni and Simon Stewart. The Grants operate a farming business in southland farming sheep, beef and deer and were interested in investing in a tourism business including involving activities on Lake Wanaka.
The Grant family interest in the area comes from 25 years of camping holidays with family and friends at Glendhu Bay every summer and enjoying what Wanaka and the surrounding district has to offer in the way of family activities.
LakeLand Adventures which offers a great variety of activities from kayaking, mountain bikes, jet boat rides on the Clutha river and a range of trips to Ruby, Stevenson and Mou Waho Islands with two charter boats which are part of the adventures offered by the company. The business will continue to operate as a family owned and operated business with their daughter Amanda Grant and her partner Michael Donald managing the company at the famous log cabin opposite the main shopping and business area of the township.
Lakeland Adventures will operate for twelve months of the year offering a wide range of activities specialising in providing families fun either jet boating , lake cruises or lake side with water bees, kayaks, aqua bikes and the recent addition of paddle boards. Starting on December 1st Lakeland are introducing a looking into a new service to Ruby Island leaving from the foreshore beside the log cabin. The boat will run when available outside other schedule trips allowing visitors to the island a chance to explore at their leisure all the walking tracks on the island with the opportunity to choose a later trip back giving them time to either have a picnic on the beach or use the free BBQ on the island.
